Charles Surles, DDS
Meet Dr. Surles
Dr. Charles Surles was raised in High Point, graduating from High Point Central High School in 1980. He continued his education at UNC Chapel Hill where he earned both his undergraduate degree in chemistry in 1984 and his dental degree in 1988. Dr. Surles furthered his dental training by completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in 1989 at UNC. Following his residency, he returned to High Point in July 1989, where he joined his father’s dental practice.
Dr. Surles and his wife, Vanessa, have two adult children, Megan and Michael. Megan and her husband, Ben live in Columbia, South Carolina and in February, 2022, they welcomed their first child, Olivia. Michael is currently living in Atlanta, Georgia. Family and faith are pivotal to his daily life. Raised in the Methodist faith, Dr. Surles attends Wesley Memorial Methodist Church where he enjoys the outreach within the community and spiritual guidance he receives through varied interactions provided through the church. He maintains a close bond with his younger brothers and their families as well as his parents who still live in High Point. Most Fridays, he joins his parents at Biscuit Factory to catch up on the events of the week.
Away from the office, Dr. Surles loves the relaxation of fishing, the camaraderie of playing golf with friends, the sense of satisfaction in serving the community through local service organizations, and the continued commitment to the institution of scouting as an Eagle Scout, former scoutmaster, and Council member.
Having served the dental needs of so many patients since 1989, Dr. Surles feels privileged to be greeted by patients with updates in their lives. In his practice, he gets the most satisfaction providing care for multiple generations within families.
