About Our Practice
Our practice began in November of 1962 when Dr. C.W. Surles opened his dental office at 1124 E. Lexington Drive in High Point, N.C. He graduated from the UNC School of Dentistry in 1960 and upon graduating, became an instructor in the Crown and Bridge Department at UNC. As a member of the 310th Dental Detachment Unit in the army reserves, he was called to duty in 1961 to Fort Bragg, N.C. In 1962, Dr. C.W. completed his military service and decided that High Point would be a great place to begin his dental practice and raise a family.
The Lexington Drive location served many patients for 15 years, but Dr. C.W. decided that it was time to build his own dental office to better serve the needs of his growing practice. In 1977, construction was completed and he began treating patients in his new office located at 404 Lindsay Street.
C.W. and his wife, Patsy, raised three sons in High Point. The eldest, Charles, decided to follow in his dad’s footsteps and pursue a career in dentistry. In 1989, after completing his education, Charles returned to High Point and the dental practice of Surles and Surles was established. The collaboration of the wisdom and knowledge of C.W. with the advances in techniques and technology from Charles created an optimal environment for patient care. For almost a decade, the father and son duo practiced alongside each other until Dr. C.W. Surles retired in 1998.
Dr. Charles Surles continues to practice at the Lindsay Street location. Renovations within the office over the years, reflect a more modern style and the latest in technology. Patient comfort along with quality care by our highly trained staff, are sure to make your dental experience a pleasant one.
